SCOTT COUNTY, Mo., (KBSI) — The Scott County Sheriff’s Office announced the arrest of a Sikeston man following a follow-up investigation into sex-offender registration compliance.
Deputies conducted the investigation on November 30, 2025, and determined that Willie Winfield Jr., a registered sex offender, failed to maintain accurate and up-to-date information as required under Missouri law. According to the sheriff’s office, Winfield failed to register or update required information, did not meet mandatory reporting requirements, and missed verification deadlines, resulting in a repeat violation.
Winfield was taken into custody and transported to the Scott County Jail, where he was formally charged. His bond was set at $30,000 cash or surety.
He is charged with failure to register as a sex offender, second offense, a Class E felony under Section 589.425, RSMo.
The Scott County Sheriff’s Office said it remains committed to enforcing Missouri’s sex-offender registry laws and protecting the community.
