Sikeston man faces charges after discharging a firearm

SIKESTON, Mo. (KBSI) – A Sikeston man faces charges after discharging a firearm into the air.

According to an officer with the Sikeston Police Department on Wednesday January 1, 2024 he was responding to a burglary call around 4:00 am in the 800
block of West Wakefield, in Scott County, Sikeston, Mo. As the officer turned off of North West Street to travel west on Wakefield, the officer says he heard gunshots coming from the northside of the roadway. The officer says they saw a black male subject wearing a black hoodie and gray pants standing at the northeast comer of the residence. The subject was standing with one arm extended into the air discharging rounds from a firearm.

The subject was later identified as Antowon Maurice Davis Jr. of Sikeston Mo.

Antowon Maurice Davis Jr was arrested and faces charges of unlawful use of a weapon, Unlawful possession of a firearm, and unlawful discharge of a firearm.
