Sikeston man faces weapons charge

SIKESTON, Mo. (KBSI) – Sikeston man faces weapons charge.

According to Sikeston DPS on Monday, May 25, 2026, officers with the Sikeston Department of Public Safety responded to the 900 block of Davis Boulevard following reports of a male subject brandishing a firearm.

While officers were responding, additional information was received identifying the suspect as Marquan Green, 29, of Sikeston.

After arriving on scene officers say Green fled the area on foot through nearby yards and across railroad tracks.

Officers began searching the area.

During the search, Sikeston DPS Communications received information from a resident indicating the suspect was hiding behind a shed near the 700 block of North West Street.

Green was eventually located and taken into custody.

During the investigation, officers recovered a 9mm handgun. Investigators have determined Green is a convicted felon and currently on federal probation.

Greene faces charges of Resisting Arrest, Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Tampering with Physical Evidence.
