Sikeston man sentenced to 40 years for statutory sodomy convictions

DONIPHAN, Mo., (KBSI) — Keyshawn Jones, 24, of Sikeston, Missouri, was sentenced to 40 years in the Missouri Department of Corrections after pleading guilty to two counts of statutory sodomy in the first degree.
Jones admitted to committing two separate acts of deviate sexual intercourse with a 6-year-old child between March 1, 2023, and December 10, 2023.
Circuit Judge Kacey Proctor sentenced Jones to 30 years on the first count and 10 years on the second count, to be served consecutively.
According to state statutes, Jones will be required to serve a minimum of 85% of his sentence.
He also faces pending charges in Scott County Circuit Court related to possession of large quantities of child pornography.
Ripley County Prosecuting Attorney Matt Michel acknowledged the collaborative efforts of the Ripley County Sheriff’s Department, Children’s Division, KVC, and State Technical Assistance Team investigators in bringing the case to a swift resolution, sparing the minor child from having to testify in court.
