Sikeston native looking for love on FOX23’s Farmer Wants A Wife

SIKESTON, Mo. (KBSI) – A Sikeston native is searching for love! He’s one of this season’s farmers, on FOX’s “Farmer Wants a Wife.”

Ty Ferrell explains the unconventional way he’s looking for love.

The first episode of this season’s Farmer Wants A Wife aired Thursday, February 1 on FOX23 at 8 p.m.

Our farmer is cattle roper Ty Ferrell. On his farm, he mostly focuses on raising his 12-year-old daughter.

But lately, he’s been the talk of the town.

One of the farmers in this sophomore season is a Sikeston native.

Ty Ferrell is a 42-year-old single dad and a farmer.

FOX23 Multimedia Journalist Sabrina Winters got a chance to talk to one of the attendees about what this means to them.

Why is the town abuzz about Ferrell? Well, that’s because he’s one the four men featured in the second season of FOX’s Farmer Wants a Wife.

The series gathers farmers who are looking for another lease on love – and Ferrell is no exception. He and the other guys had the opportunity to meet a large group of women who, themselves, are searching for a connection.

Ferrell made his TV debut earlier on Thursday. Cape Girardeau-based entertainment center Dogwood Social House hosted a watch party for fans.

Going into the show, Ferrell is focused on one thing: hope.

And he aims to keep an open mind about who might capture his heart.

The experience of dating on TV, as you might have expected, is unconventional for Ferrell.

But he is committed to the process regardless because he says it’s not exactly easy finding love in his position.

Even so, picking a life partner isn’t a decision he takes lightly. Being a single father, Ferrell wants to make sure to involve his daughter Lennon as much as he could throughout his journey on Farmer Wants a Wife.

Family life – and his life on the farm – is important to him, something that rings true in this way he talks about living in Sikeston.
