Sikeston police investigate shooting, identify suspects

SIKESTON, Mo., (KBSI) – A shooting incident occurred on April 9, 2025, around 5:22 p.m. in the area of Ruth Street and Clayton Avenue.

A vehicle was struck by gunfire, and a juvenile passenger was injured.

The juvenile sustained non-life-threatening but severe injuries and was transported to a local hospital.

Sikeston police have identified three suspects in connection with the shooting: Cooper Allen Day, 18, of Sikeston; Jaquevion Lavar Horton, 18, of Sikeston; and Larry Lavar Horton II, 19, of Charleston.

All three have been charged with multiple felonies, including first-degree assault, unlawful use of a weapon, and armed criminal action. They are considered armed and dangerous.
