Silver Dollar City unveils Miner’s Mountain Express family coaster opening in 2027

BRANSON, Mo., (KBSI) — Silver Dollar City has unveiled Miner’s Mountain Express, a new family roller coaster set to open in spring 2027.
The coaster will take riders on an Ozarks-themed mining adventure inspired by the history of the Marble Cave Mining Company, which operated at the site in the 1880s. The cave was later renamed Marvel Cave after prospectors discovered there was no marble.
Miner’s Mountain Express will feature more than a half mile of track, making it the longest family coaster in the Midwest, according to Silver Dollar City. The ride will last three minutes and 18 seconds and feature two lift hills and 15 airtime moments.
Riders will board mine cars and travel across Daredevil Pass, encountering boulders, rugged terrain and a flooded mine shaft as part of a fictional search for a lost entrance to Marvel Cave.
The coaster will have a minimum rider height of 39 inches for children riding with a supervising companion.
“For over 65 years, Silver Dollar City has entertained our guests through fun story-based adventures,” Silver Dollar City Company President Brad Thomas said. “This family coaster has been designed so that multiple generations of families can enjoy the mountain-themed adventure together.”
The attraction will be located in Daredevil Pass, a new section of the park connecting WildFire, PowderKeg and American Plunge. An authentic 15-story headframe from a working Missouri mine will stand above the attraction.
Miner’s Mountain Express is being developed in partnership with MACK Rides, the German manufacturer behind Silver Dollar City’s Time Traveler coaster. Silver Dollar City employees and Herschend Creative Studios are also working on the attraction’s construction, theming and storytelling.
The coaster is part of a $150 million investment in Silver Dollar City that also includes the new Silver Dollar City Resort, which is scheduled to open in 2027.
Miner’s Mountain Express is expected to open in spring 2027.
