Sisters perform at Cape G Rocks

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (KBSI) – The music scene in Cape Girardeau keeps getting bigger. Cape G Rocks presented a talented group of teenage performers on Friday, August 16.

The Burney Sisters, Emma and Bella, are known for the songwriting and their ability to play multiple instruments. The Burney Sisters harmonies and tunes are reminiscent of The Avett Brothers, First Aid Kit, Lake Street Dive, The Staves and Joseph.

They performed at 1222 W Cape Rock Drive on Friday.

Guests Sienna Hahn and Aimee Caldwell also performed.

“Let’s just do this ourselves,” said Shawn Wood with Cape G Rock. “Let’s bring these independent artists, singer songwriters, up and coming that people might not otherwise listen to because they’re not on the radio yet. Bring them to town and introduce people to the music that we love. Broaden their minds, you know and then also cross pollinate that with all of our local musicians. I always try to include local people and pair them up with who’s coming to town and just showcase how great live music is here in Cape.”
