CARBONDALE, Ill., (KBSI) — Southern Illinois University Carbondale Department of Public Safety introduced a new community service and mental health advocate canine during a campus event focused on student well-being.
Officials said the dog, KT, also known as King Tut, was introduced April 10 during Salukis Care Day at Faner Plaza and the Student Services Building.
KT and handler Officer Lyerla interacted with students, faculty and staff throughout the event, which is designed to promote mental health and provide opportunities for connection and relaxation.
