Smithland man arrested in Livingston County assault case

SMITHLAND, Ky., (KBSI) — A Smithland man has been arrested in connection with an assault that left the victim seriously injured, according to the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies said the investigation began Thursday, Sept. 25, and led to the arrest of Ronnie Jones, 53, on a charge of second-degree assault.

Jones was taken to the McCracken County Jail, where he remains in custody.

Authorities noted Jones is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
