Southeast celebrates International Education Week with numerous events

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (KBSI) – Southeast Missouri State University (SEMO) celebrates International Education Week (IEW) November 13-17 with events highlighting the institutions study abroad and international opportunities.

The Office of International Education and Services (OIES) hosts a number of events.

  • November 14
    • 11 a.m.–2 p.m.
    • Taste of the World
    • third floor of the University Center.
      • The event is free and will feature samples of food dishes from around the globe.
  • November 15
    • noon
    • Southeast Study Abroad will host a panel where students will share their study abroad experiences and information about programs and academics.
  • November 16
    • 6–8 p.m.
    • International Education will host Bollywood Movie Night at the International Village.
  • November 17
    • International Fashion Day
    • Students are asked to wear cultural attire to class, and then will gather in Academic Hall at noon for a group picture, according to Southeast.

IEWcelebrates the benefits of international education and exchange worldwide. U.S. Department of Education and U.S. Department of State’s joint efforts promote programs that prepare Americans for a global environment and to attract future leaders from abroad to study in the United States.
