Southeast Missouri Food Bank schedules emergency mobile food distribution for storm victims

SIKESTON, Mo. (KBSI) – Southeast Missouri Food Bank has scheduled emergency mobile food distribution for families affected by recent storms and tornadoes.
“Recovering from this level of destruction takes time,” said Joey Keys, Chief Executive Officer of the food bank. “As families begin to rebuild, we are committed to providing consistent food distributions in the hardest-hit areas for as long as it takes. We hope that having reliable access to food will ease some of the burdens these neighbors face.”
Additional mobile distributions for those affected by the tornadoes will be shared on the food bank’s Facebook page and Mobile Food Pantry calendar at semofoodbank.org.
“Disaster relief is an important but often overlooked part of the food bank’s work,” Keys said. “Our operations and programs teams have been working closely with emergency management, first responders, and our existing partners to ensure the needs of those affected are met.”
Keys said the food bank has received additional product donations from Procter & Gamble and will be purchasing additional food for these distributions.
