Southeast Missouri pets to host community blood drive
CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., (KBSI) — Southeast Missouri Pets is partnering with the American Red Cross to host a community blood drive on May 9.
The drive will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Southeast Missouri Pets, 180 Weston St.
Donors can schedule an appointment by calling 573-334-5837.
According to the Red Cross, all blood types are needed, especially O negative, A negative and B negative.
Southeast Missouri Pets Executive Director Jenn Farmer said hosting the blood drive aligns with the organization’s mission to strengthen the community and save lives.
The American Red Cross emphasizes that blood is a perishable product that must be constantly replenished, with someone in the U.S. needing blood every two seconds.
