Southeast Missouri State hosts Power of Women Luncheon and Expo

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (KBSI) – Southeast Missouri State University hosted its 12th annual Power of Women Luncheon and Expo on Wednesday.

This event brings together extraordinary women to celebrate and empower one another, and a portion of the proceeds from the event is awarded as scholarships.

This year’s keynote speaker, Molly Eggleston, said you do not have to be outspoken to be a leader.

When you think of a leader, you think of extreme confidence, outspoken, and for myself, that’s just not true,” she said. “I’m a quiet, shy person, but I’m just as much of a leader, so being able to really listen, show compassion to others and kind of live as an example for others is just as much of a leader as someone who can tell their opinions right off the bat or be really outspoken about something they care about.”
