Southeast Missouri State University accepting applications for Law Enforcement Academy

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (KBSI) – Southeast Missouri State University’s Law Enforcement Academy is accepting applications for the fall 2024 semester.

Application will be accepted until Friday, July 26.

Prospective students can either pursue a bachelor’s degree or a certificate in law enforcement.

Those opting for the certificate program can access financial aid and earn 18 credit hours that can be applied toward a future bachelor’s degree.

Both pathways lead to a Class “A” Missouri Peace Officer’s License.

Applicants must also apply for admission to SEMO regardless of their chosen program.

Law Enforcement Academy classes begin on August 5 which is earlier than regular SEMO courses. The classes continue through finals week.

Applications for the Law Enforcement Academy can be submitted in person or mailed to SEMO Law Enforcement Academy.

Background checks must be completed by July 26.
