Southeast Missouri State University cyber defense team claims 12th state title

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., (KBSI) — Southeast Missouri State University’s (SEMO) Cyber Defense team has won its 12th Missouri championship title at the Collegiate Cyber Defense Competition (CCDC).
The team competed against 21 other teams on Feb. 15, showcasing exceptional preparation and expertise in managing and defending computer networks in a simulated business environment.
SEMO’s Institute for Cybersecurity Director Dr. Mario Garcia attributed the team’s success to rigorous training at the Charles Stamp Cyber Command Center.
Team captain Sam Brucker said the victory was one of the best moments he has experienced with any team.
SEMO’s win highlights the university’s commitment to excellence in cybersecurity education. The team will now compete in the regional competition at Purdue University Northwest.
