Southeast Missouri State University invites prospective students to explore campus at Show Me Days

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., (KBSI) — Southeast Missouri State University will host Show Me Days this spring, offering prospective students a firsthand look at academic programs, campus life and facilities.
The events, scheduled for Feb. 28, March 29 and April 11, will allow students to explore academic areas of interest, attend facilities tours and get answers to college-related questions.
“A big part of the day allows students to explore academic areas that interest them,” said Lenell Hahn, director of Admissions. “Students can spend time exploring majors at the Academic Fair and then attend facilities tours.”
The flexible schedule will enable families to select the experiences that matter most to them. Activities will include:
— Participating in a Student Life Expo
— Meeting with professors at an Academic Fair
— Taking a campus tour and exploring residence halls
— Enjoying a meal at one of SEMO’s dining facilities
— Attending sessions on topics such as navigating admissions, paying for college and transferring credits
Students also will have the opportunity to explore SEMO facilities, including the eSports Arena, Nursing Simulation Lab and the Professional Pilot Program at Cape Airport.
Two Friday dates this spring provide high schools with an opportunity to organize a student group and bring them to campus.
“The spring semester is such an exciting time for high school students who are inching closer to college,” Hahn said. “Show Me Day gives them the opportunity to visit campus and learn more about the programs that will get them to the jobs they are pursuing, plus hear how SEMO can help them like no other school can.”
In addition to tours, students can enjoy lunch at a campus dining facility and receive a 20% discount at the Southeast Bookstore.
