Southeast Missouri State University named Apple Distinguished School

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (KBSI) – Southeast Missouri State University’s College of Education, Health and Human Studies has been renewed once again as an Apple Distinguished School for 2022-2025.

Being recognized for its integration of Apple technology in the university’s Edvolution Center.

The use of Apple technology has inspired creativity, collaboration and critical thinking in learning, teaching in the school environment, and providing documented results of academic accomplishment.

“The Edvolution Center was recognized by the American Association Colleges of Teacher Education last year for better innovative use of technology, because of the ability or the capacity they showed, to improve, instruction through technology,” said Dr. Joe Pujol, dean of Southeast Missouri State University’s College of Education, Health and Human Studies.

Southeast’s education programs were first recognized as an Apple Distinguished School in 2017. That was following the launch of Southeast’s iPad one-to-one program launched as part of the curriculum in 2014 to help students majoring in education integrate educational technology into their coursework and use a variety of state-of-the-art teaching tools. Southeast was also recognized as an Apple Distinguished School in 2019.
