Southeast Missouri State University students attend Missouri Governor’s Student Leadership forum

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., (KBSI) — Four Southeast Missouri State University students joined Missouri Governor Mike Kehoe at the annual Missouri Governor’s Student Leadership Forum in Jefferson City.
Sarah Chapman, Dustin Roberts, Connor Warnke and Stella Wright were among 80 collegiate students nominated to represent their colleges at the forum, held Feb. 14-16, 2025, at the Missouri State Capitol.
Unlike traditional leadership conferences, the forum encourages students to rethink leadership as a form of service rather than authority.
Participants explored how character-driven leadership can create lasting impact in their communities through engaging conversations, networking opportunities and real-world applications of leadership principles.
Missouri Governor Mike Kehoe welcomed students at the Capitol, setting the stage for a weekend focused on self-reflection, relationship-building and learning from experienced leaders across various fields.
Established in 1988 under former Missouri Governor and 79th U.S. Attorney General John Ashcroft, the forum continues to shape future leaders by emphasizing humility, service and strong moral character.
