Southeast’s DPS investigating wire fraud against university

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (KBSI) – Southeast Missouri State University’s Department of Public Safety is in the early stages of an active criminal investigation of wire fraud against the university.

It involved the theft of money and not data, according to the university. No personal records of students, faculty, or staff were compromised, according to the university.

The university will coordinate with local and federal authorities as necessary as the investigation continues.
