Southern Illinois Community Foundation awarded $120k grant for STEAM Education Initiatives

VIENNA, Ill., (KBSI) — The Southern Illinois Community Foundation has been awarded a $120,000 grant from the Illinois State Board of Education to support after-school science, technology, engineering, art and mathematics programming for students in Vienna and surrounding areas.
The grant will fund initiatives such as a traveling Star Lab and construction of a fraction ball court, providing students with enriching STEAM experiences.
“We’re thrilled to partner with the Vienna School District to bring innovative opportunities to students,” said Byram Fager, CEO and executive director of the Southern Illinois Community Foundation. “As a community-based resource, we’re committed to supporting local schools and nonprofits throughout southern Illinois.”
