Southern Illinois winery wins top national honors at major U.S. competition

MAKANDA, Ill., (KBSI) — Blue Sky Vineyard earned top honors at the San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition, receiving multiple awards in the national contest.
The vineyard’s Norton and Rosé wines were awarded Double Gold Medals, while its Seyval and Vintners Select received Gold Medals. The competition features entries from wineries across the United States.
Blue Sky Vineyard officials said the awards highlight the quality of its estate-grown Southern Illinois wines and mark a milestone for the region on a national stage. Visitors are invited to sample the award-winning wines at the vineyard.
