St. Louis County officer rescues elderly woman during duplex fire

WILDWOOD, Mo., (KBSI) — A St. Louis County police officer is being credited with rescuing an elderly woman during a fire Monday morning in the 2500 block of New Point Drive.

Officers from the City of Wildwood Precinct responded to the scene shortly after 8:30 a.m. While checking nearby homes, Officer Doyle found the woman inside an adjacent duplex who was unaware of the fire. He was able to escort her safely from the residence, authorities said.

The Metro West Fire Protection District also responded to the scene.
