St. Louis firefighters rescue dog from icy waters

ST. Louis, Mo., (KBSI) – A dog was rescued from frigid water after falling through ice during single-digit temperatures in St. Louis, the St. Louis Fire Department said.
The incident occurred when the dog wandered onto an icy surface that gave way, leaving the animal trapped in the water and unable to reach safety. The department’s Marine Rescue Task Force was dispatched and launched rescue boats, navigating frozen conditions to reach the dog.
Firefighters were able to pull the dog from the water and bring it to safety. Officials said the dog is doing well and is expected to make a full recovery.
