St. Louis Iron & Mountain Railway holds traditional Santa Express
JACKSON Mo. (KBSI) – The annual Santa Extra is taking place at St. Louis Iron & Mountain Railway from November 24 to December 23.
Margie Roberts has been volunteering for the Santa express as Mrs. clause for 12 years, and she says each year is just as memorable as the last.
“i love it. it’s the highlight of my year, and especially when you see the excited smiles and children on the train.” Said Roberts. “It’s a good outlet for people to come and participate in.”
Within the 2 hour train ride; Christmas carols, holiday trivia, face painting, and photo ops with famous Christmas characters are featured.
As the train rides along Jackson Blvd., attendees in each car are accompanied by a group of participants, some conductors and some acting as Santa’s helpers.
“…And the volunteers, we have some of the best volunteers. and we’re all volunteers, everybody pitches in the best way they can.” According to Roberts.
