ILLINOIS (KBSI) — Women, Infants and Children program participants across Illinois are unable to use their WIC benefits because of a statewide system outage.
According to Southern Seven Health Department, the processor that handles Illinois WIC transactions is experiencing a statewide outage, preventing WIC cards from working at stores throughout the state.
State officials are working to restore service as quickly as possible. Local WIC agencies said they are unable to resolve the issue or provide assistance related to the outage.
Participants are encouraged to monitor updates from their local WIC agency or the Illinois Department of Human Services.
No estimate was immediately available for when service would be restored.
