Ste. Genevieve man killed in crash on Hwy. 61 in Perry County

PERRY COUNTY, Mo. (KBSI) – The Missouri State Highway Patrol released the name of the man killed in a crash Monday morning.

Robert C. Seibel, 22, of Ste. Genevieve was driving a 2008 Chevrolet Cobalt north on Hwy. 51 when he crossed the center line into the southbound lane and struck a 2015 Ford transit van driven by Carl L. Duffie, 66, of St. Libory, Ill.

Seibel was pronouced dead at the scene at 6:52 a.m. by Perry County Coroner William Bohnert.

Duffie was taken by air evac to St. Louis University Hospital with moderate injuries.

It happened at 5:55 a.m., according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

Missouri Highway 51 North near Perry County Road 917 and McBride Hill was closed down as emergency crews responded to the scene.
