STEM-based event takes place at SEMO

CAPE GIRARDEAU Mo. (KBSI) – Boy Scouts of America hosted its annual STEM U at SEMO for cub scouts and scouts BSA.

The full-day event focuses on earning STEM-based advancements and NOVA awards.

STEM executive Logan Lawrence says, “Its just a huge day of STEM, they get to do coding, they get to do game design, pinewood derby. They get to see how weight affects cars.”

Including a “STEM-on-wheels” program, all of which focuses on the children’s education.

All activities are accompanied by parents and processionals.

“One of our teachers are engineers or college professors, so they all know what they’re talking about so it’s a very good experience for the kids.” Said Lawrence.

The activities were from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. in Dempster Hall.
