Stoddard County deputy recognized for saving a life with Narcan

BLOOMFIELD, Mo., (KBSI) — A Stoddard County sheriff’s deputy was recently recognized for administering Narcan and saving a person’s life during an emergency response.
Deputy Adams received a Missouri Crisis Intervention Team Challenge Coin for her actions, according to the Stoddard County Sheriff’s Office.
The challenge coin is presented to first responders who demonstrate an exceptional commitment to preserving lives and serving their communities during critical incidents.
“Deputy Adams’ recognition serves as a reminder of the critical role Narcan plays in saving lives and providing individuals with a second chance,” Chief Deputy Andy Holden said. “We are proud of Deputy Adams and all of our deputies who continue to respond to difficult situations with courage, compassion and professionalism.”
The sheriff’s office encourages residents to seek assistance for people experiencing substance use disorders, mental health challenges or suicidal thoughts.
