BLOOMFIELD, Mo., (KBSI) — A Stoddard County man has been charged with first-degree domestic assault following an incident earlier this week, prosecutors announced.
Prosecutor Sawyer Smith filed the class A felony charge Monday against Terry L. Beck, alleging that on Sept. 6 Beck caused serious physical injury to a woman by striking her repeatedly in the face and choking her. Court documents state the victim suffered multiple broken facial bones and a hematoma behind her right eye.
Associate Circuit Judge Bradley D. Jarrell issued a warrant for Beck’s arrest and ordered him held without bond in the Stoddard County Jail. The Stoddard County Sheriff’s Department executed the warrant Sept. 9.
Beck is scheduled to appear later this week at the Stoddard County Justice Center for an initial arraignment. If convicted, he faces 10 to 30 years or life in prison.
All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
