Stoddard County Sheriff’s deputies ask for help finding missing woman, baby

STODDARD COUNTY, Mo. (KBSI) – Stoddard County Sheriff’s deputies ask for the public’s help finding a woman after authorities received a hotline call regarding the wellbeing of a one-year-old child.
The Stoddard County Sheriff’s Office received a call from the Stoddard County Children’s Division in reference to a hotline call they received from a mandated reporter in regard to the wellbeing of a 1 year old child of 28-year-old Brooke Baker.
The Stoddard County Sheriff’s Office received information that Brooke Baker left her mother’s home on January 18 in the middle of the night. She did not take her vehicle due to it not running.
Baker was last seen around Dexter area.
Information received from Brooke’s mother was that she had spoke with her via text informing her the child was fine as of January 20 and that she should be contacting law enforcement shortly.
No contact with law enforcement was ever made.
Law enforcement is actively looking for Baker trying to check the safety of the one-year-old child.
Law enforcement believe that Baker is avoiding law enforcement.
Anyone with any information about the location of Baker and her child is asked to contact the Stoddard County Sheriff’s Office at 573-568-4654.
Baker is believed to be in no danger and avoiding speaking with authorities due to an investigation.
Family has not filed missing person report and has spoken with her but she refused to give whereabouts, according to a post on the Stoddard County Sheriff’s Office Facebook page.
