Store clerk accused of selling tobacco, vape products to minors

MARION, Ill. (KBSI) – A store clerk faces charges after Marion police received multiple complaints of Marion Tobacco and Vape selling tobacco and/or nicotine products to people under the age of 21.
Salah R. Albanna, 20, of Carbondale faces charges of underage sale of tobacco products and failure to identify prior to sale of tobacco products.
The Marion Police Department open an investigation and determined that at least one clerk was selling tobacco/nicotine products to underage people.
Police obtained a search warrant for Marion Tobacco and Vape located at 2604 Williamson County Parkway, Suite G2 in Marion.
Police seized about 1,936 containers of nicotine liquids, 604 disposable electronic nicotine devices, 26 electronic nicotine devices, 564 nicotine “pods” and 164 other miscellaneous nicotine products.
The estimated value of the seized items is about $62,164.68.
