PADUCAH, Ky., (KBSI) — Jackson Purchase Energy Cooperative crews are working to restore power after severe storms caused widespread damage across western Kentucky.

The cooperative said crews are dealing with significant damage, including large, downed trees blocking roads and damaged electrical infrastructure.

Officials said restoration will not be a quick process and asked customers to remain patient as crews work to safely make repairs. No estimated time for full restoration has been announced.

Thousands of Jackson Purchase Energy customers remained without power Thursday following the overnight storms.

Jackson Purchase Energy serves customers in Ballard, Carlisle, Graves, Livingston, Marshall and McCracken counties.
