Storm recovery efforts continue: No new reports of injuries or fatalities
SCOTT COUNTY, Mo., (KBSI) – As of Saturday morning, there were no new reports of injuries or fatalities related to Friday’s severe weather system.
Emergency crews continued to work around the clock to assess damage, restore utilities and ensure community safety.
The American Red Cross established a support center at the Miner Convention Center for those displaced or in need of assistance.
Residents requiring shelter, supplies or support services were encouraged to visit the center. Community members wishing to help were asked to contact the Red Cross at the convention center.
Officials urged non-residents to stay clear of affected areas, citing traffic congestion that diverted resources and slowed recovery efforts.
“We appreciate everyone’s concern and willingness to help, but staying away truly is one of the best ways to support the recovery process right now,” officials said.
Another update was expected at 5 p.m. Saturday.
