Students at Egyptian Community School District receive new shoes

TAMMS, Ill. (KBSI) – Students at the Egyptian Community School District received a pair of new, brand name shoes on October 3.

Each child in Head Start, Pre-K and through grade 12 received a pair of new, brand name shoes made possible through a partnership between the Foundation and Shoe Sensation.

Illinois Senator Dale Fowler (R) and the representatives from the Fowler-Bonan Foundation visited Southern 7 Head Start Egyptian Early Learning Center in Tamms to donate new shoes.

Egyptian was one of a few districts in the area to receive the donation.

After being fitted for their size, each child was able to “shop” for a new pair of shoes to take home.

The donation was made possible by a grant through the Fowler-Bonan Foundation.
