Students from SIUC take on the heat for a class assignment

DUQUION Ill. (KBSI) – College students taking on the heat to work on their assignments.

Southern University of Carbondale students head to the Du Quion State Fair to capture the essence of the heat.

Julia Rendleman is an Assistant Professor for SIUC, and she teaches the Photojournalism Class where she gathered five of her students to come out and capture the real world outside rather than in a classroom.

Students Deangelo Handley and Abby Harris tell us why it’s important for them to be out in this heat.

“No, it does not feel as good. It is pretty hot here but we got to do whatever it takes to get that image. We are here to make images. Yes, going off of that most of our assignments do require us to get out of the classroom so just preparing for that as well.”
