Students give teachers flowers for Teacher Appreciation Week
CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (KBSI) – It’s Teacher Appreciation Week, May 2-6. Wednesday, students at St. Vincent de Paul School in Cape Girardeau gave their teachers a flower to show appreciation.
Parents handed out flowers as the students walked into school for them to give to their teachers.
“I just feel so loved today and as a teacher it just makes the job so rewarding to feel all the love,” said Allison Watkins, first grade teacher at St. Vincent.
“We’re so excited to celebrate our teachers this whole week and our parents and are the ones who put all of it on. It makes us feel so special that they want to do it. I think our teachers are amazing every day, but it is nice to be acknowledged. We have awesome parents who want to take the time out of their week to make our teachers feel appreciated. So we thank them as well. All teachers everywhere, it’s a hard job and they do it for the love of the children,” said Kay Glastetter, principal at St. Vincent de Paul School.
St. Vincent de Paul School has about 40 teachers and staff with 385 students ages preschool through eighth grade.
