Suicidal 911 call turns into murder charges for Kennett man

KENNETT, Mo. (KBSI) – A Kennett man is in custody facing a first-degree murder charge.

According to the Kennett Police Department on December 31, 2024 at around 6:43 pm Kennett Police responded to 1915 Lynndale street in reference to a suicidal male that was armed with a gun.

After arrival to the residence, investigation revealed that 67-year-old Linda Lloyd was found deceased from a single gunshot wound.

The suspect and caller was located at the scene.

The suspect is identified as 44-year-old Tommy Lloyd.

Lloyd was taken into custody and is being held in the Dunklin County Jail.

Dunklin County Prosecutor Nick Jain has filed charges on the suspect for First Degree Murder, Armed Criminal Action and Unlawful use of a Weapon.

Lloyd is being held without bond.

This incident was investigated by the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Dunklin County Sheriffs Office and Kennett Police Department.
