Sunday morning delivery: Deputies help welcome new baby

CAPE GIRADEAU Co., Mo., (KBSI) – A couple’s urgent 911 call early Sunday led to a surprise roadside delivery, with sheriff’s deputies assisting in the birth of a baby.

The call came in around 2 a.m., with the couple reporting they couldn’t make it to the hospital in time. Deputies quickly arrived and helped deliver the baby in the back seat of the vehicle.

The deputies provided care and support to the new family until emergency medical personnel arrived to transport them to the hospital safely.

The sheriff’s office praised the deputies’ swift and compassionate actions, saying their quick thinking helped welcome a new life into the world under extraordinary circumstances.
