Suspect arrested in connection to a September shooting incident

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (KBSI) – A man wanted in connection to a shooting in September was arrested Tuesday.
A shooting left one person injured in Cape Girardeau near SEMO campus.
According to the Cape Girardeau Police Department, the suspect is 41-year-old Chono V. Montgomery.
Several tips of Montgomery’s whereabouts were called in from Indiana. Police there investigated and took him into custody.
He faces charges of armed criminal action and first-degree assault.
He is being held in Cape County Jail with no bond.
On Sept. 11, officers with the Cape Girardeau Police Department were dispatched to the 1100 block of North Sprigg Street near the SEMO campus for shots fired.
They found a female had been shot in the leg.
After an investigation, a warrant was issued for Montgomery.
Montgomery was set to make his initial court appearance Wednesday in front of Judge Frank Emanual Miller.
