Suspect taken into custody after 14-hour search in Carter County

CARTER COUNTY, Mo., (KBSI) – The Carter County Sheriff’s Office says a suspect has been taken into custody following an approximately 14-hour search.

According to the sheriff’s office, Peter Taylor was located and arrested near the scene of the original incident.

Sheriff’s officials thanked the numerous law enforcement agencies that assisted in the operation, as well as Carter County residents who provided information and cooperated during the investigation.

Authorities said there is no ongoing threat to the public related to the incident.

The investigation remains active, and additional information will be released as it becomes available, according to the sheriff’s office.
