Suspicious person complaint leads to arrest of man in Lyon County

(KBSI) – A Hopkinsville man faces burlgary, trespassing and evading police charges after sheriff’s deputies responded to a suspicious person complaint in Lyon County.

The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office responded to a suspicious person complaint at a home on KY 295 North near the Crittenden County line around 3:20 p.m. on Friday, December 22.

The caller reported a man coming out from behind a home, being confronted by a neighbor and then running away.

Chief Deputy Sam Adams and Eddyville Police Sergeant Shannon Oliver arrived and found a suspicious vehicle at the home.

Sheriff Brent White later arrived in the area and found the suspect walking in a wooded area south of the scene.

When he approached Williamson, he ran away into a field area before he was detained by Sgt. Oliver and arrested.

Jason R. Williams, 46, of Hopkinsville faces charges of burglary – 3rd degree (garage), two counts of criminal trespassing – 2nd degree, two counts of criminal trespassing – 3rd degree, fleeing/evading police – 2nd degree (on foot).

At the time of his arrest, Williams was under felony and misdemeanor indictments and out of custody on bond from Christian Circuit Court.

He was taken to the Crittenden County Detention Center.
