Target stores to stay closed on Thanksgiving Day from now on
Target's CEO wrote about the benefits of being closed on Thanksgiving Day for the employees and even the customers.
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Target CEO, Brian Cornell announced in a letter to employees that Target stores will be closed on Thanksgiving Day moving forward.
Cornell wrote about the benefits of being closed on Thanksgiving Day for the employees and even the customers.
“I visited four New York City stores last week and three more in New Jersey, and our teams there were fired up – ready, responsive and connected to guests like never before. Our guests also seemed so pleased to see our stores well-stocked and priced right,” said Cornell.
According to Cornell, employees told him they were thankful that the stores would once again be closed on Thanksgiving.
Cornell made the decision to close the stores on Thanksgiving Day due to the confidence in the agility employees developed over the last couple of years.
“You don’t have to wonder whether this is the last Thanksgiving you’ll spend with family and friends for a while, because Thanksgiving store hours are one thing we won’t ‘get back to’ when the pandemic finally subsides,” said Cornell.
