Teacher arrested, charged following investigation at Thomas W. Kelly High School
SCOTT COUNTY, Mo., (KBSI) — The Scott County Sheriff’s Office and Thomas W. Kelly School District are addressing an investigation involving a school employee.
Last week, the sheriff’s office and school district learned of an allegation of inappropriate conduct between a teacher and a student at Thomas W. Kelly High School. The teacher, Omar Campos, was immediately placed on administrative leave to ensure student safety while the investigation was conducted.
The sheriff’s office led a thorough investigation, finding that the alleged incidents occurred between October 2024 and May 2025, all on school property. To protect the investigation’s integrity and those involved, specific details are not being released.
Based on evidence, investigators arrested Campos on May 22, 2025. A probable cause affidavit was submitted to the Scott County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office, recommending charges for harassment, sexual misconduct, and assault.
Campos has been formally charged through the Scott County 33rd Judicial Circuit and is being held on a $25,000 cash-only bond. The sheriff’s office, prosecutor’s office, and school district remain committed to protecting student safety and ensuring allegations are investigated promptly and thoroughly.
