Teen charged after passenger stabbed inside vehicle in Calloway County

CALLOWAY COUNTY, Ky., (KBSI) — An 18-year-old faces felony charges after another person was stabbed inside a vehicle near Coldwater, according to the Calloway County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies responded to Kentucky 121 North around 4 a.m. July 27 after receiving a report of a possible crash.

Investigators determined three people were traveling in the vehicle when a verbal altercation led to one occupant allegedly stabbing another, the sheriff’s office said.

The victim was taken by ambulance to Murray-Calloway County Hospital and later transferred to another medical facility because of the severity of the injuries.

Deputies arrested Ryan E. Garner and booked him into the Calloway County Detention Center. He is charged with first-degree assault, a Class B felony, and tampering with physical evidence, a Class D felony.

The charges are accusations. Garner is presumed innocent unless proven guilty.
