Texas man arrested after brief pursuit in McCracken County

MCCRACKEN COUNTY, Ky., (KBSI) — A traffic stop attempt turned into a brief pursuit late Tuesday night, ending with a Dallas, Texas man’s arrest.
At approximately 11:13 p.m. on March 19, 2025, a deputy attempted to stop a silver sedan for speeding and an equipment violation near Interstate 24 and Lone Oak Road. The vehicle, however, failed to yield, traveling south on Lone Oak Road before turning onto Bleich Road [1).
The sedan then left the roadway and struck a school zone sign head-on. The driver, identified as 27-year-old Malcom Grant, was taken into custody without incident.
Grant was lodged at the McCracken County Regional Jail on multiple charges, including:
Fleeing or Evading Police: 2nd degree (motor vehicle)
Disregarding Traffic Control Device: Traffic light
Careless Driving
Criminal Mischief: 1st degree
Possession of Marijuana and Drug Paraphernalia
Rear License Not Illuminated and No Insurance
The pursuit was relatively short, with speeds never exceeding 40 mph and a total distance of 0.6 miles.
