TG Missouri and City of Perryville host E-Waste Recycling Drive Through

PERRYVILLE, Mo. (KBSI) – TG Missouri and the City of Perryville are teaming up for an electronic waste recycling drive through with Midwest Recycling Center.

City Administrator Brent Buerck says taking care of electronic waste is taking care of the community.

“It can take care of the environment but also if we take care of it the right way,” said Buerck. “We can take care of people’s personal information because when you properly recycle people’s electronics, they’ll scrub it and wipe that stuff clean.”

According to the United States Environmental Protection Agency electronics donations and recycling are both great ways to help conserve resources and natural materials.

But it is important to make sure you are donating and/or recycling electronics safely and correctly.

“People are looking to do the right thing, I think people generally want to do the right thing, and this event organized by TG Missouri allows them to do the right thing,” said Buerck.

Human Resources, General Manager, Rhonda Ruark says TG Missouri has helped with environmental initiatives in the past, “2,000 members of the community and our employees helped plant 15,000 trees.”

Ruark says that TG Missouri looks forward to doing more recycling events in the future.

“We just really want to set a good example and hope that other companies, other regions and communities will do the same type of recycling activity to help reduce these wastes in our environment,” said Ruark.

The recycling drive is Saturday, July 8 from 8 a.m. to noon in the TG Missouri parking lot located at 2200 Plattin Road in Perryville.
