110 Grill Road Rally Poker Run raises money for teen with cancer
SIKESTON, Mo. (KBSI) – The 101 grill hosted a car show and more this afternoon, hosting an array of events for the benefit of JJ Bledsoe a 13 year old who was diagnosed with brain cancer.
Justin Decker told FOX23 News that they are a part of a small community just trying to give back. He encourages the community to come out and support the event and help raise money for JJ Bledsoe at the 101 Grill in Sikeston.
Tara Watkins is the manager at the 110 grill and she talks about her connection to Bledsoe and his family.
“This event is, it’s really close to my heart. This little boy he was diagnosed with brain cancer. He plays on a travel baseball team. My sons played a lot of travel ball with him. He’s been on teams together with him and they’ve been on teams so you know they’ve been opponents, but they’re real good friends. He’s just a real sweet kid. It’s a great family so we’re just trying to raise some money for him.”
Decker says it’s great to be able to assist local families and charities.
“I’ve got several friends around Sikeston we talked about it how being able to return to the local people around the community. It is a big thing around here. We’ve been trying to focus on that more, and more. It’s to great be able to help local families, local charities, and help people out that you see the benefit from them.”
