The Southeast Coalition for Roadway Safety and local safety partners are promoting car seat safety through various car seat safety events

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (KBSI) – According to the Southeast Coalition for Roadway Safety almost 46% of car seats are installed incorrectly.

The Southeast Coalition for Roadway Safety and local safety partners are teaming up for a car seat safety event.

September 5-21 is National Child Passenger Safety Week, so local partners are teaming up for car seat safety.

Several events will be held locally where car seat technicians will do cars seat inspections, installation, education and review expired car seats or recalls.

There will also be free car seats available to families in need at the event dates listed below.

Poplar Bluff Fire Department from 9:30-1:30

Cape Fire Dept #1 from 9:30-1:30

Bollinger Co Health Department 9:30-1:30

Missouri Bootheel Regional Consortium in Sikeston from 10am-2pm
