SCOTT COUNTY, Mo., (KBSI) — Three people were seriously injured Monday after a vehicle ran off the roadway and struck a tree in Scott County, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

The crash occurred around 12:26 p.m. on County Road 429, about one mile south of Morley.

Troopers said a 2002 Buick LeSabre traveling southbound ran off the right side of the road and hit a tree.

The driver, an 18-year-old man from Dowell, Illinois, and two passengers — a 24-year-old woman and a 27-year-old man, also from Dowell — all sustained serious injuries.

All three were transported by ambulance to Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

Authorities said none of the occupants were wearing safety devices. The vehicle was totaled and towed from the scene.
